Eco-resolutions
Jan 3rd, 2007 by summer
This year I have two eco-resolutions:
1. Green up my camping. We go camping quite a lot and while we do the obvious green things like recycling and using reusable tableware (right), I’ll be doing a little more research on campfires, stoves, and even the perfect green s’more.
2. Put a stop to wasted food. I’ve got great intentions when I shop for food - organic, local, farmer’s market produce. But, when it ends up wasted at the bottom of the fridge because of lack of time and/or energy, all those good intentions get washed down the drain. So I’ll be cooking more, buying less, and getting into a good food making pattern. I’m saying “no” to Clif Bars and cereal for dinner, “no” to moldy organic lettuce, “no” to browning fair trade bananas. No food in my home will go to waste.
I’m not the only one making Eco-res’s. Check out my buddy Liz’s of Great Green Goods, some blogging goals by Jeston Green, and the TreeHugger writer’s resolutions. Gotta good one of your own? The Worsted Witch is having an eco-resolution contest - and yes, there’s a prize!

Great goals Summer! Good luck with the blog and business in 2007…I look forward to reading more excellent content.
What about my resolution?
Also — In regards to the camping — Don’t forget to add the fact that you’ve added bike racks to the Jetta to cut back from using 2 cars
Thanks guys! Yes, I did add a bike rack to my car (actually it’s a Golf, you give me too much credit).
GLG’s res is to put the bottle away for two weeks. She’s halfway there, and even made it through a Green Drinks event without slipping. Way to go, woman!
[...] Last Year I had two eco-resolutions 1) Waste less food 2) Try to green my camping. Both went pretty well. [...]
