These handy baskets are made from used potato chip wrappers picked up from the streets of Nepal. The bags are cleaned, wrapped around dried grasses, and woven into a functional and beautiful basket. The colorful bowl is created from the outside of the potato chip bag while the elegant silver color is created using the inner lining. Each bowl will vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the craft. The story of the bowl is included on the tag.

Currently, 500 Vietnamese and Nepalese are employed by The SPIRAL Foundation with fair wages to manufacture these baskets. The proceeds that are generated by producing these handicrafts go back into the community to finance humanitarian aid projects that include primary health care, medical, and educational projects. |
